It's been a while since I've done one of these, but now is as good a time as ever to start them back up. I don't have any graphs to show off this month because most of my time was spent planning the end of Sprig. But I do still have news!
First off, Sprig is coming along. I spent the month of March plotting out the ending and then started writing again on my birthday (March 30th). I originally started writing Sprig on my birthday in 2019, so this was a nod to the beginning. In the past few days, as of writing this, I've already added 3100 words to the story. Over half of that was written today (April 1st), as I've been ramping up to do a daily word count of 2000 words. So, pulling that off means I'd be writing about 6 chapters a week.
The plan is to write the rest of the story this month or at least write about 50,000 words. That would get me very close to the end of the story. By May, I plan to start releasing chapters again. This is all subject to change, but it shouldn't change by much if it does. I'm committed to finishing this story. So if you've been waiting, don't worry. More chapters are coming soon!
With Sprig nearing its end, you might be wondering what I'll do after. I've been thinking a lot about it and making plans. I already have my next story idea lined up, and I'm really excited to get started on it. I'll leave the elevator pitch for another time, but my next story will be deeper than Sprig and will delve into more mature themes. Right now, I'm referring to the new story as DOMS. We'll see how the timing works out, but I hope to spend a month plotting the new story. Then I'll start releasing chapters again on here and other serial fiction sites. Stay tuned for updates on it!
